I can not believe how much you have to deal with when moving. Moving really is an experience. The one thing that really hit me when moving was how much junk I have. Where does it all come from.
I am very happy to report that I had significant breakthroughs this time around when dealing with useless junk that I have been storing and lugging around for some time.
By the way who is going to have to get rid of your junk if you happen to demise before you think you will?
To be very honest I was relieved to part company with books I had for no apparent reason for having. I had books that were so outdated it was a crime to even think they were of any value to my research.
Honestly, every thing you need can be found pretty much online and only books that are current seem to make sense. Why hold on to the past. I did keep some books but only if they had sentimental value(very few, thank God).
Clothes are another issue. Goodwill benefited from my repentance and sound judgement. Useless papers have no value. Why do we want any papers that are out of date. It was time to burn the trash. Thank God for computer memory and save disks.
Moving brought me back to some basic assumptions. Live simple, live clutter free, live to transition into something better(more does not mean better).
To spiritualize moving I would say we need to clean house from top to bottom and get rid of the junk that clutters our judgement and vision of the present and future.
